Carbon black
Carbon black is a finely divided, highly carbonaceous solid material in the form of a black powder, produced by partial combustion or thermal decomposition of hydrocarbon feedstocks. It is characterized by high specific surface area, intense jet‑black color, strong UV absorption and, for specialty grades, good electrical conductivity. In rubber and plastics it is primarily used as a reinforcing filler, while in inks and coatings it is the key black pigment for achieving deep black shade and opacity.

Applications In The Industry
Rubber industry
Carbon black is the primary reinforcing filler in the production of tires, hoses, seals, mounts, conveyor belts and other rubber articles. It enhances tensile strength, abrasion, tear and fatigue resistance, as well as thermal conductivity and UV protection of rubber compounds. Different particle sizes and structures allow fine tuning of hardness, elasticity and hysteresis of rubber mixes according to end‑use requirements.
Plastics industry
In plastics, carbon black is used as a pigment and functional filler for PE, PP, PVC, PA and other polymers. It provides intense black coloration, acts as an efficient UV stabilizer that extends outdoor service life, and, in special grades, imparts antistatic or conductive properties. It is widely used in films, pipes, cables, technical parts, containers and automotive components.
Printing inks and printing industry
In the ink industry carbon black is the dominant black pigment in solvent‑based, water‑based and UV systems for flexographic, offset, gravure and digital printing. Selected grades offer high optical density, deep jet‑black shade, strong hiding power and fast dispersion in various binders. Stable particle morphology and controlled particle size distribution contribute to high print sharpness, color fastness and rub resistance.
Paints and coatings industry
In paints and coatings, carbon black serves as a black pigment and as a shading and gloss‑control component in decorative and industrial systems. In coatings for metal, plastics and construction substrates it provides deep, stable black color, good lightfastness and weather resistance, and improved UV durability of the film. Fine grades are employed in automotive basecoats and topcoats where high visual performance is required.
